Random Thoughts – The Freestyle Boys

We had a post a couple of weeks ago with our concern about the Freestyle Boys, Ben Johns and Rob Nunnery, talking about the Dreamland Universal Pickleball Rating (DUPR) without being clear about their respective sponsorships with DUPR. Well, they added disclaimers to their podcast description and made it well known in their most recent podcast at about the 29:00 minute mark that they are sponsored athletes with DUPR. Oh, they also happened to give the NML blog a nice little shout out, which we definitely appreciated.

We do hope that Johns and Nunnery continue to do regular Freestyle Boys podcasts. There’s not nearly enough of this type of discussion in pickleball but as the game grows there needs to be outlets for digesting the sport the same as any of the other bigger sports. Tyson McGuffin’s podcast with Kyle McKenzie is usually a good listen but they don’t have any regular schedule for their podcast for people to keep track of when they can expect the next episode.

Anyway, we just wanted to acknowledge the Freestyle Boys and their acknowledgement of us.
